Your chats stay on your device
Charlario processes your chat export entirely on your device, inside your browser. The chat file, its messages, names, phone numbers and photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. When you share a chat to the installed app on Android, the file is kept in your browser's local storage on the phone only until it is opened.
What we do keep
- Anonymous counters: daily totals of page views, previews created and clicks on the buy buttons. No cookies, no IP address, no device ID and no chat content are stored with them.
- Waitlist emails: if you join the waitlist, we store your email address, the option you chose, the page language, the date and your country (derived from the connection by our hosting provider). We use it only to tell you when the full PDF is available. Ask us any time to delete it.
- Purchase codes: your browser keeps a random code for each purchase so it can unlock your PDF; our server stores that code with the number of chats it unlocks and the fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes) of the export files you unlocked, never their content.
Technical requests
Your browser downloads the page, the fonts and, if your chat contains emoji, the matching emoji images from this site. These requests don't include your message text. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard connection data to deliver the site securely.
Payments
Payments for the full PDF are handled by Creem (creem.io), which acts as merchant of record. Creem receives the details you enter at checkout (such as your name, email, payment method and country) under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your card details. From Creem we receive the order number, the product bought, the amount and the random code your browser created; we store only those to unlock your PDF and to handle refunds and support. Creem also shows us your email and country in its dashboard so we can answer support requests.
