How to save a WhatsApp chat with photos

🔒 Your chat never leaves your device. Everything is processed inside your browser; nothing is uploaded.

ℹ️ Charlario only converts your own chat export file: the .txt or .zip that WhatsApp itself gives you through its official “Export chat” feature. The file is processed locally in your browser and never uploaded. Charlario is not a downloader or scraper: it does not connect to WhatsApp or to any account, and it cannot read chats from anyone's phone. Charlario is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

⚠️ Don't open or unzip the .zip file. Save it (iPhone: Save to Files), then tap Choose chat file in Charlario and pick the .zip.
📱 On iPhone, Charlario doesn't appear in the share menu. Use Save to Files, then pick the .zip here.

A plain export keeps the photos as separate files, which makes it hard to see what was sent when. Putting them back inside the conversation makes the chat much easier to read and keep.

1. Export with media

When exporting, choose Include media (Android) or Attach Media (iPhone). You'll get a .zip with the chat text and the photos.

2. Load the .zip (don't unzip it)

Choose the .zip in Charlario. Each photo is placed in the bubble where it was sent, resized so the PDF stays small.

What gets included

Limits to know

WhatsApp limits how many messages an export can include, and it's lower when media is included. For a very long chat, see exporting a long chat.
